Are you serious???

People never cease to amaze me. I am one of those people who truly cannot be offended, you can piss me off to no end, but I take no offense to quite a lot, and blushing....forget it....hardly blush. So comments that are made literally make me shake my head and ask "What possessed you to say or do such a thing?"

The things that never cease to amaze me are the comments about the Squids. I am needing to come up with new responses to the dumb question of "Are they twins?" My dear friend T suggested that I tell people who ask that they are foster children, I fell over laughing! So as I am making my weekly and or bi-weekly excursion to Costco. I find myself overwhelmed with all the holiday shoppers. I am not a people person, people bug me with his and/or her lack of respect and no apparent consideration for others, that is why I am not a people person. Anyway, there I am maneuvering my way through the sea of elderly, retired, and the rude to make my way to the produce section so that I may gander at what is new in the walk-in cooler. The cooler mind you is a very cool 50 degrees or so, not quite freezing, but damn chilly. Off I go into the vast yonder of the produce cooler inside Costco before this maniac stops me in my tracks. I mean she might as well have grabbed me by my arm and begged me not to enter. There I was standing in complete bewilderment with all three kids who were anxious to get the hell out of Costco. The woman had the sheer audacity to have these comments to say to me.....as if I was some teenager without a clue about children, let alone my own:

Woman: (Shriek!!) DON'T YOU GO IN THERE WITH THOSE BABIES!!!
Me: It's okay, they are in long sleeves, pants, and they have blankets, (smile) they are fine.

Woman: NO! You can leave them right here I will hold and watch them for you.
Me: NO, really, they are fine.

Woman: You can leave them right here and run in.
Me: Look, they are fine, they are MY kids.

I wanted to slap the woman and then give her the card to my therapist and a list of books on co-dependency. I mean really!! Get a grip!!! Not like I was going to be basking in that cooler all afternoon, I go in, make a circle around the displays of produce that are in there and out I come. I guess she felt I was a terrible mother for taking my kids who were dressed in long sleeves and pants since it was 50 degrees outside and RAINING and had their warm fleece blankets. I should have taken her borderline Mother Teresa craziness up and then asked her to go get my car so I didn't have to walk half a block in the parking lot to my van with my kids....in the rain.

Oh some people.....I think I have only met one other person who is borderline Mother Teresa (trying to save the world all at once), so this lady really caught me off guard. Plus I have a hard time with other people telling me what I should and should not do with my kids....I mean its not like I tell them...."Well you did a fantastic job of screwing up your children, so back off of mine". Plus I know a lot mean well, but seriously whether you are a mother who raised a brood or not, not your place to tell another MOTHER what she should or should not do with her children. You may not agree, but keep that to yourself. Otherwise you will get a HUGE argument from me.....and believe me.....you don't want to argue with me.

Me again....kind of here....

So I think that we lived through the holiday. I have to say that I was such a Scrooge and I thoroughly enjoyed it only because I felt this year was totally for my kids. I do so much for everyone else during the year (myself excluded mind you) that this year I wanted the holiday for my kids and my kids only.

Christmas Day was such a joy! We had to drag DH out of bed so that we could get all the major unwrapping and pausing to play with gadgets out of the way before my mom came over to open gifts with us as well. Needless to say you would think a few elves dropped a bomb in my house with all the cardboard packaging and wrapping paper coming out of our ears!

This year 'Santa' brought G a Nintendo Wii. DH and I were leery about the Wii and thought that the games wouldn't all be age appropriate to grow with him (too young), but we found that the games are for all ages as DH and I spent the better part of Christmas night sweating and opening windows while we boxed and played tennis. I have to say that this is our new family game night which is awesome! All of the other gifts were pretty much gravy except for the Transformers that G got from my mom that he has not put down! The Squids on the other hand....well if the toy sang, crinkled, or made any sort of noise they were all about it. So "Leap" the frog has been singing the alphabet non-stop and I about ready to chuck it! Sad really because I bought the frog for the Squids, they each got one. But they are having a blast. Myself on the other hand....well.....recuperating, figuring which gifts may need to be re-gifted next year for Dirty Santa or White Elephant and someday soon I will clean my house in its entirety. But this week trying to relax a little before school starts again on the 5th!! YIKES!!

Gonna be a Scrooge

One might think that Christmas is such a wonderful time of year. Carols, lights, baking, family, gifts, the whole nine yards. I feel this is a complete load of S#*T! I shouldn't be a scrooge but I am. I am excited for my kids and can't wait for them to open their gifts, however, everyone else can just shove off.

I know I shouldn't be, but really. The economy is in the dump, money is tight, and my greedy family members expect gifts? PUH-LEASE! So this year I am the gift Nazi. I am not buying for DH's family as I have done in so many years past. I will let him be a big boy and buy for his family if the budget allows. I mean why should I buy for someone else's family? I don't expect him to go out and buy my mother or father gifts?

I think the reason I am such a scrooge is how the last year has past and all of the crap that came and went with it that I am carrying that baggage that I hope to leave at December 31 before moving into the new year. Lets recap the reason for being a Scrooge:

1. Stabbed in the back by a family member or members
2. Birthday forgotten by all except the woman who birthed me....sad really
3. Um, had two extra kids that suck the last bit of life from me (love them dearly though)
4. Just flat tired
5. Because I can be a scrooge

So for all of you out there who feel bad about being a Scrooge and "Bah Hum-bugging" the whole Christmas holiday.....come have a drink with me and to hell with those happy holiday people.

Stopping to say HI

Time is flying, and I have been meaning to post like a million times. The holidays really put me into OCD overdrive with things, except of course my house. I have not really touched (cleaned) my house since Thanksgiving!! How sad is that? How pathetic am I? I am the goddess of clean when you mention my home.....ask my mother, she can attest to my compulsion of clean. However, twins throw a wrench in my compulsion and I have no release. I would normally go smoke at my stress level....now.....I need to find something else than smoking. Though I miss my old fire breathing friend.....mmmm...the smell of a fresh lit cigarette.

Okay, back to what I was doing and not revelling in the smell of stogey smoke. So stopping to say HI as I am finishing Christmas gifts that are being produced as I type, pies to be made and shipped overnight, Gingerbread houses to be decorated (tomorrow...@ G's school), wrapping to be done, homework, and bears Oh my!

Still here, saying HI, hope to post my family juice ASAP. Twins are such a novelty right? I am sure you can't wait to hear more about life with them and their older brother.

Still here....barely!

Okay....so I will have plenty of super juicy posts to come as I just returned home on a very early Sunday morning from a whirlwind (*cough, CRAPPY) weekend trip. Oh, fun moments were to be had, but all around....I am still recouperating from the event and I have some nasty schmegma stuff with a cough. Needless to say, good times, lots of goodies to share. I will be back with you all soon....oh so very soon. But first, I must finish some useless school papers, attempt to unlock a program on my computer so I may finish a Christmas gift or two, and get over this junk that I brought home.
